The Controlled Expansion Nozzle (CEN) Muffler Retrofit Kit for Mega Blaster Pots, designed by Axxiom / Schmidt, is an essential upgrade for improving safety and noise reduction during blowdown operations. This state-of-the-art retrofit kit is specifically engineered to address critical safety concerns and enhance operational efficiency. Key Features:- Enhanced Safety: The CEN muffler kit eliminates the risk of vent freeze-up, which can trap dangerous pressure inside the pot. Without this muffler, vent freeze-up can lead to severe injury or even death if an operator removes the abrasive loading cover under pressure.
- Noise Reduction: Noise levels during blowdown can exceed 140db without a CEN muffler, posing a significant health hazard. The CEN muffler reduces this noise to a much safer level of 92db, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and improving the work environment.
- Controlled Expansion and Velocity: The CEN™ blowdown system safely controls the expansion and velocity of exhaust air, minimizing the risk of dust abrasion on exhaust system components and allowing the operator to fully open the exhaust valve to depressurize a 160 cu. ft. unit in approximately 8 minutes.
- Compatibility: Bulk Abrasive Blasters manufactured after January 2010 come equipped with the CEN Exhaust System. This retrofit kit allows this advanced depressurization system to be installed on any pot that does not already have it, enhancing safety and efficiency.
- Installation Details: The kit includes a 3" NPT thread connection for easy integration. However, mounting brackets are not included due to restrictions on welding on a pressure vessel after certification. Customers will need to determine the best mounting location, possibly utilizing the ladder. For installation assistance, BlastOne technicians are available to provide support.
