Proper use and maintenance of your dust collector auger, ensuring efficient waste removal and optimal performance.
Using Your Auger:
- Steady Pressure: For both regular emptying and reverse operation, the hydraulic valve pressure should be set to a consistent 55 bar (approximately 800 psi). There’s no need to adjust the pressure setting.
- Reverse Function: The reverse function is spring-loaded and automatically returns to its original position once deactivated.
- Daily Checks: During your daily inspection routine, make sure there are no leaks around the auger’s hydraulic hoses.
Cartridge Cabinet Access:
- PPE Requirement: Always wear full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when accessing the dust collector cartridge cabinet. We highly recommend an RPB spray hood for added protection.
- Confined Space: The cartridge cabinet is considered a confined space and may contain dust particles.
- Door Seal: The cartridge cabinet door must be shut to ensure a proper seal. An open door can disrupt the vacuum within the cabinet, compromising its efficiency.
- Inspection Frequency: Typically, you shouldn’t need to inspect the interior of the cabinet unless you experience an auger jam.
Preventing Auger Jams:
- Regular Operation: To prevent jams, operate the auger throughout the day to keep debris moving. This prevents dust from consolidating and creating a solid mass that can overwhelm the auger.
- Humidity Control: In environments with high relative humidity, dust can attract moisture and solidify, leading to jams. Consider using dehumidification to control moisture levels.
By following these guidelines, you can ensure your dust collector auger operates smoothly and efficiently, minimizing downtime and maximizing dust collection performance.
Additional Tips:
- Consult your user manual for specific instructions related to your dust collector model.
- If you encounter any difficulties or unusual operation, contact your dust collector manufacturer for assistance.
