Why You Shouldn’t be Using Built-In Aftercoolers

DID YOU KNOW YOUR BLASTING EFFICIENCY IS REDUCED BY 20-25% BY USING COMPRESSORS WITH BUILT-IN AFTERCOOLERS?

Built-in aftercoolers generally drop pressure by about 15psi.
When you are blasting at 140 psi with a compressor that has a built-in aftercooler, you’re typically actually only blasting at 125 psi. Even by increasing the pressure, you still will be at about 15psi less than what the compressor is saying you are blasting.

How it affects your costs:
If you are consistently cutting your efficiency down by 20-25% by using a built-in aftercooler, you are wasting more than 1 day per week of blasting.

GET MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE OUT OF YOUR COMPRESSOR

In order to ensure you are getting the most out of your compressor, make sure to run the air through an air dryer and turn the air hoses to the non-aftercooler side
If your air dryer drops more than 3 psi, there is an issue. If you are experiencing this issue, feel free to give BlastOne a ring.
When it comes to abrasive blasting, avoid built-in aftercoolers at all costs.
