Clemco Breathing Air Carbon Monoxide (CO) monitors are an essential element for maintaining compliance with employee breathing air safety standards.  Designed to be used in conjunction with Apollo respirators and CPF breathing air filters, the Clemco CMS monitor series is available in multiple configurations including a unique in-helmet design.  The three configurations are as follows:

  • CMS-1
    • Wall-mounted for blast-room applications
    • 2 settings available – 5ppm or 10ppm CO
    • Can be used with 120v or 220v (requires special plug available separately), or can be converted to 12v
  • CMS-2
    • Portable for field applications, and includes protective polyethylene case
    • Available as 120v / 220v (220v requires special plug available separately), OR as 12v
    • Factory set for 10ppm CO
  • CMS-4
    • Mounts inside supplied-air respirators, allowing operators to self-monitor their CO exposure.
    • Switchable between 5 and 10ppm CO settings
    • Powered by a common lithium battery, lasts up to 3000 hours.
    • Note:  To prolong battery life, remove it from the respirator and turn off between uses.
    • (The CMS-4 replaces the legacy CMS-3 previous model.)

All units available as stand-alone devices, or as packages which include calibration connections, valve, and test gas.  

CMS1 and CMS2 versions offer optional CMS remote alarm with horn and/or strobe.

Clemco Breathing Air CO Monitors are vital tools for protecting operators from the risks of carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning when using supplied-air respirators. CO is an odorless and colorless gas that can result from the breakdown of oil lubricants in diesel-powered air compressors or contamination from diesel exhaust. These monitors detect the presence of CO and sound an alarm when dangerous levels are reached, ensuring workers' safety in hazardous environments. 

CMS-1: The CMS-1 is a wall-mounted CO monitor. Designed for use in blast rooms, it provides a reliable method of monitoring CO levels in plant applications. This model is available as a standalone monitor or with a complete package that includes a connector and test gas. 

CMS-2: The CMS-2 is a portable CO monitor housed in a durable, rugged carrying case. Designed for use with air respirators, it provides a reliable method of monitoring CO levels on-site. This model is available as a standalone monitor or with a complete package that includes a connector and test gas. 

CMS-4: The CMS-4 is an in-helmet CO monitor that can be transferred between helmets for ease of use in various job environments. It ensures that operators are alerted to high levels of CO inside their respirators, allowing them to take immediate action. The CMS-4 is also available with a connector and test gas package for comprehensive monitoring.
