OEM Clemco Hollo-Blast Internal Pipe Blasters

OEM Clemco Hollo-Blast Internal Pipe Blasters

SKU: P-HOLLOBLAST

Clemco offers a wide range of equipment that provides high-efficiency 360-degree cleaning for pipe interiors. Suitable for industrial applications, these tools are capable of providing precise and effective surface preparation.

The two Hollo-Blast unit versions function essentially as nozzles, and work by utilizing a deflection tip at the end of the orifice.  The tip deflects the abrasive into a 360° pattern. They are designed for pipes ranging from only ¾” – 2″ ID (Junior Series) to 2″ to 12″ ID (standard Hollo-Blast Series).  Larger ID pipe can also be done, but with a different series of equipment. Optional centering carriages are also available, adding efficiency and consistency to the blast.

Internal Pipe blasting is a specialized process involving high wear on certain components.  BlastOne’s technical staff is available to assist with your questions.

OEM Clemco Hollo-Blast Internal Pipe Blasters

Sku: P-HOLLOBLAST

These OEM Clemco Hollo-Blast Internal Pipe Blasters are designed to provide comprehensive 360-degree interior cleaning for a range of pipe sizes. Built for precision, these tools are engineered to meet the needs of industrial professionals who require surface preparation in various internal pipe applications, including rust, scale, and paint removal.

Hollo-Blast configurations:

  • Hollo-Blast Junior.  The Hollo-Blast Jr. is perfect for small-diameter pipes between ¾" and 2" ID.  The nozzle orifice is 9/32" (between a #4 and #5 nozzle) and consumes 80 CFM at 100 PSI when new.  Air consumption rises to as much as 140 CFM when worn. It connects to a standard 1-¼" fine thread nozzle holder with a tungsten carbide ‘reducer’ and also a separate 3/8" NPT threaded pipe lance (supplied separately, and recommended to be the same length as the pipe being cleaned).  For pipes from 1" to 2", centering collars are used as well. (These collars are not used on ¾" ID pipe.)
  • It is available in 2 variants as follows:
    • Complete package with centering collars & reducer
    • Package with collars, but without reducer (in case a replacement unit is needed but the existing reducer is still usable.)
  • Hollo-Blast.  This variant is designed for pipes with an ID between 2" and 12".  Similar in design to the Junior model, it is larger with higher capacity, for use with larger pipes.
  • Two orifice size options are available, as follows:
    • 1/2", which consumes 200cfm at 100PSI when new, (rising to 260 when worn) for general purpose use.
    • 5/8", which consumes 350cfm at 100PSI when new, (rising to 550 when worn) for higher production use when sufficient compressed air is available.
    • Bare units are also available without the nozzle, as replacement units where the existing nozzle is still usable.  Note:  According to Clemco, nozzles should be replaced when they are worn by 1/16"
  • Two deflection tip & sleeve options are also available:
    • Tungsten carbide, economical but shorter life span for smaller projects
    • Boron carbide, higher up-front cost is offset by longer life in larger projects, or when using 40 mesh and finer aggressive media.
    • An even longer lasting composite tip is separately available, specially recommended when using 36 mesh and coarser aggressive media.
    • Note:  The deflection tips between the Hollo-Blast Jr. and the Hollo-Blast are not interchangeable.

Centering devices for the standard size Hollo Blast are purchased separately and are not needed unless the ID is 3" or larger.  There are 2 centering devices available, as follows:

  • HBC-1, collar and button type, for pipe between 3" and 5" ID
  • HBC-2, scissor-type, for pipe between 5" and 12" ID.

Please note:  These Hollo-Blast units work on the principle of indirect cleaning by media deflection.  For larger projects where the pipe ID is at least 8", faster production can be achieved with the Spin-Blast units, which work by direct cleaning using multiple nozzles.
